For over six decades, the Castro dictatorship has masked tyranny with the illusion of popular support, using sham elections to dress oppression in the clothes of legitimacy. But no regime that silences dissent, jails opponents, and controls the press can call itself democratic.
In a system where the people cannot choose their leaders freely, where ballots are merely tools of propaganda, voting is not a right — it's a weapon used against the people. Participating in such a charade only strengthens the illusion.
To vote without freedom is to endorse our own chains. True patriots do not lend legitimacy to dictatorships. We must raise our voices, not our ballots, until Cuba is truly free.
